We encourage you to attend a UMAT Course even if you have to travel a long distance. Many students from other cities, interstate and overseas attend our UMAT Courses as well, because there are several benefits of attending. For example: in addition to reading, it is beneficial to hear from an expert to reinforce the content; interaction with other like-minded students will help develop your thinking; the UMAT Course provides networking opportunities with motivated and able students from various schools in your city, other states and overseas; it will significantly boost to your motivation; some inside knowledge/ information is provided in the UMAT Course which is not available elsewhere; numerous UMAT sample questions and efficient, effective and elegant ways of arriving at the answer will be discussed; the skills learnt in the UMAT Course will be invaluable for high school/uni study in addition to UMAT.

In the evaluations, students say that they did not use the resources on the LMS and did not know how to efficiently and effectively use them until they attended the MedEntry UMAT Course. Invest in your future by enhancing your thinking skills.

At the UMAT Course you will also be given the opportunity to sit a trial UMAT exam, based on which you will receive predicted UMAT scores. Students find this unique information extremely valuable in planning their year and the UMAT preparation, including which sections to focus on.

Most of the UMAT courses are run by Dr Edward, an academic with over thirty years of experience teaching in Australian universities. He has published several articles on educational research, delivered numerous papers/keynote addresses at several Teaching and Learning Conferences and won numerous awards for teaching excellence.

Dr Edward has been training students for tests such as the UMAT for over two decades. Among his successful students include his own children, both of whom held the Monash Scholarship for Exceptional Achievement, which are awarded to the best incoming student each year. They also received numerous other awards, accolades and achievements such as the "Youth of the Year" (State winners & National Finalists in 2001 and 2003); Premier's Awards; Australian Students Prizes for Excellence; School Captains of Selective Entry Schools; ATAR scores of 99.9; "Achiever of the Year" (awarded for the most outstanding co-curricular and community involvement to a Year 12 student each year in the state); Gold Medals in the University of NSW International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS); numerous awards for excellence in public speaking; Caltex Best All-rounder Awards; State level Debaters; perfect scores in UMAT; graduation in Medicine with First Class Honours etc. They are both currently working as Registrars. They are not only the youngest doctors to be accepted into the training programs of the most competitive of medical specialties, but have also won medals for obtaining the top score in the state in the specialist training theory and clinical exams held by the Royal Colleges (eg, see RACP News, Vol 32, No 2, April 2012, p27). Ed will aim to pass on to you the advice he gave his children which contributed to their unparalleled success. Ed comes from a family of 23 doctors.

Dr Edward is a member of numerous professional organisations related to psychometric/educational/personality testing. He is also the Practice Manager of a Medical Centre and has a wide knowledge of the health profession and health-related issues.
