  • 11/10 course. Highly recommended. Very helpful and insightful.

  • The activities and examples were simply wonderful and I adored the advice given, so helpful!!!
  • I really enjoyed the workshop and learnt a lot, I’m actually looking forward to UMAT now and I’m more excited to study dentistry. I learnt things that will help me with school as well. Thank you very much.

I also liked the structure as it allowed for time for information to be processed without overstimulation and unnecessarily long breaks.
  • I think I have become more logical in my reasoning and way of thinking. I don’t think I would have a chance in even passing the UMAT if it weren’t for MedEntry.

  • In addition to the workshop, the resources are very useful. Before applying for MedEntry I assumed I could ‘wing it’ when it came to the UMAT test, but on trying some drills and trial exams, I realised that without preparation it would have been highly unlikely for me to do a good job in the test.
  • Interview techniques as well as reasoning behind interview questions. The trial exam was a very good chance to accurately access my current level of preparation and abilities under proper test conditions. Everything was put into perspective.
  • It sets out the great guideline of UMAT, and how to achieve better scores in detail, such as different sections – we need different strategies and what they are.

  • I learnt different ways of approaching a question – some of the questions that I couldn’t solve before now made sense because I’m starting to look at them from different perspectives and think more critically.
  • Before the workshop I thought UMAT was just another test I had to go through like maths, chem etc… but the course showed me that it’s more than just a test but skills that are required for all your life, so even if I don’t get into medicine because of my UMAT mark, it’s just the fact that UMAT, a very skills developing test that will assist me in whatever I do. Informal atmosphere also made it more comfortable.
  • A lot of advice was given which can be applied to everyday life. I found this to be very useful and enjoyable. There are few other opportunities to learn these skills.
  • I learnt important skills for the UMAT, obviously, but it broadened my mind and thinking skills. It increased my ability for motivation and confirmed the reasons as to why I want to study medicine.
  • I learnt new ways to not only improve my UMAT but also my study habits and character. For example, EI, CCI and recommended websites and books. It also helped me approach questions in different ways, and after taking the MedEntry course I felt confident and motivated as I now see UMAT in a different light.
  • My experience at this workshop is something I will remember and always cherish a I learned a lot from it.
  • Overall, definitely worth taking off a weekend and great value for the cost. To be honest it was probably more fun than staying at home.

  • It was a friendly atmosphere; advice given that was not available on LMS.
  • I was able to meet more people with similar ambitions and Dr Edward made me feel comfortable around strangers and was able to show alternate career pathways.
  • The presentation of the information in a friendly understandable manner. Plus the lecturer was a really down-to-earth person and this made what he was saying easier to digest.
  • It has encouraged and motivated me to see UMAT as a positive ‘goal’ rather than a ‘hindrance’ or something to be nervous about.

  • This MedEntry UMAT course is so genuinely helpful, I was surprised! I feel so motivated to improve and succeed, thank you!!

  • If you want to be successful in life one must be proactive. You either find out about MedEntry through likeminded people or you take the initiative yourself to improve. Ones who don’t use MedEntry are only disadvantaging themselves. The ones who don’t, probably don’t care.

  • Liked most about the 2 day UMAT course how informative it really was and I honestly believe there would have been zero chance for me to get a score for the UMAT test to come and also Ray was great, funny and down to earth.
  • The amount of interaction in the class and the clarifications and comprehensive words, very lucid. In my opinion the best lecturer both on a professional and personal level that I have ever seen.
  • It is not a UMAT course; it is a “Thinking Skills” course!
  • The course was made fun and enjoyable yet was very efficient and helpful. I now feel a lot more confident launching into my UMAT revision. The Lecturer was hilarious!

Just by observing Ed’s ability to communicate I learned of many positive attributes needed in all aspects of communication.
  • The MedEntry course was very informative of both the process of getting into medicine as well as the benefits of doing medicine. • Getting the opportunity to break down sections, looking at techniques, and applying these techniques to examples. Also, sitting the practice exam on the second day allowed me to realise what to expect on the actual day of the UMAT.
  • The MedEntry UMAT course opened my eyes to many concepts I had not considered. It showed me how the system works and explained everything thoroughly.
  • It changed my way of thinking: not just about how to approach the UMAT, but about how to approach life.
  • I like how it really got me motivated and excited about the UMAT, and the way it opened me to various ways to get into the course of my choice. Helped me realise it is possible!
  • The confidence it gave me with regards to the exam. Deconstructing sample questions and having general rules about different questions really helps. The MedEntry UMAT trial exam gives you a lot more confidence for the real exam.
  • The fact that we discuss the theory behind how to do the questions, then do the questions.
  • Strong correlation between ACER and MedEntry.
  • Thank you for the MedEntry course, it was an enjoyable experience and if I had the opportunity to attend again, I definitely would.
  • The MedEntry course helped me realise it is not possible to wing the UMAT.
  • Definitely helpful in UMAT preparation – confidence and consolidates any weakness in skills, attitudes of students. Atmosphere is great for learning and meeting people striving for similar goals and aspirations. Relieves stress and tensions of UMAT!
  • The course was informative and built confidence in me about the UMAT. MedEntry also provided incredibly difficult questions which helped me gauge where I am in terms of areas of improvement and my strengths. The small group helped.
  • The course presented different ideas and strategies that I could use for the UMAT. It also explained different concepts which would otherwise be confusing to understand by myself.
  • The MedEntry trial exam held on the second day was most helpful because it accurately simulated the conditions of the final exam. Discussing the given examples was very beneficial also.
  • Great UMAT tips – never would have thought of some of the strategies.
  • I liked how we could do UMAT questions together as a whole group, which was very helpful!
  • The MedEntry course gave me a new sense of confidence with the UMAT, showed me many techniques for dealing with various questions and problems.
  • The interaction with others and the trial exam really made the reality of the UMAT set in which is great motivation to begin proper preparation.
  • I liked how greatly informative it was, and the fact that after one day of the course I was able to answer questions that I wouldn’t have been able to a day prior.
  • I like how they explain each section carefully and detailed. What to expect, how to address answering a question so we know what each section expects of us. We become less anxious after the UMAT course.
  • The semi formality of the session, not too relaxed but serious enough to get things done. Was very on time and well-practiced. One of the best courses I have attended, 10/10.
  • The activities and examples were simply wonderful and I adored the advice given, so helpful!!!
  • I really enjoyed the course and learnt a lot, I’m actually looking forward to UMAT now and I’m more excited to study dentistry. I learnt things that will help me with school as well. Thank you very much.
  • How the skills taught are not only useful for UMAT, but for life and so this MedEntry course has influenced the way I look at the world and approach it.
  • Thank you times a gazillion, this has been a productive course and I walk away a more perspective person.
  • Really helped get me kick started!! I’m gonna study more!!
  • I really liked the lecturer and the way the tips were structured. The lecturer was very engaging and I never had to strain to listen to him, always suddenly realising it was break (having learnt a lot of new information). I also liked the structure as it allowed for time for information to be processed without overstimulation and unnecessarily long breaks.
  • I think I have become more logical in my reasoning and way of thinking. I have learnt how to approach an interview, the course, overall, has increased my level of confidence when it comes to interviews and other assessments in general. I don’t think I would have a chance in even passing the UMAT if it weren’t for MedEntry.
  • Learn/develop skills not only essential to the UMAT exam but also for success in day to day life and other fields and careers.
  • It was very informative and it really helped me with the strategies for answering the types of questions I previously dismissed as being too difficult to do. I couldn’t imagine trying to do the UMAT without MedEntry Preparation.
  • It’s an absolutely fantastic course. I especially like the interaction between the participants which makes the MedEntry UMAT course more lively and interesting.
  • I liked how the course gave me motivation to do more work on my UMAT preparation. It also gave me a lot of useful strategies for not only the UMAT but various aspects of life.
  • The techniques were really helpful and insightful. The whole experience truly shed light on the secrets to UMAT. The speaker was also very funny and charismatic, making it quite enjoyable.
  • Gaining tips on how to do the UMAT, gives opportunity to do well,  the lecturer spoke very well, was funny and kept us interested.
  • Great two day UMAT course. Really worth it. Dr Edward was a great person to run the course.
  • Very helpful to help train your brain.
  • I learnt different ways of approaching a question – some of the questions that I couldn’t solve before now made sense because I’m starting to look at them from different perspectives and think more critically.
  • Before the course I thought UMAT was just another test I had to go through like maths, chem etc… but the course showed me that it’s more than just a test but skills that are required for all your life, so even if I don’t get into medicine because of my UMAT mark, it’s just the fact that UMAT, a very skills developing test that will assist me in whatever I do.
  • I loved the activeness of the course, it provided the opportunity for students to step out of their comfort zones and engage in activities that I find are extremely useful in gaining insight into my own thinking process.
  • It was an enjoyable course, unlike many other courses. The lecturer was great!
  • Thanks for an awesome course that was informative, encouraging, friendly and enjoyable.
  • The course was very engaging, the lecturer was an amazing teacher and by thoroughly covering the work and learning from others I gained a lot from the course.
  • The course brought up concepts I never knew and never thought existed. Not only will it help me prepare but it will definitely change my way of thinking.
  • Out of all the lectures I have attended this course has been the most interesting and valuable of all.
  • Thanks a lot for the MedEntry UMAT course!!  I believe now I can nail UMAT!!
  • I truly believe that today has changed my perspective on UMAT. I may not have done well in the trial however I have learnt my mistake and am motivated to go home and learn.
  • The MedEntry UMAT course was a great motivation boost.
  • I liked the atmosphere and how I and everyone else engaged with each other although we were strangers before the MedEntry UMAT course. The lecturer had many qualities I admired, some of which I hope to have developed before my UMAT and interview.
  • The two day UMAT course provided me with useful techniques and information that I previously did not know. It helped me greatly with answering questions. The MedEntry UMAT advice also made me learn a lot about myself and encouraged me to explore and expand my knowledge.
  • I gained a lot from the 2 day UMAT course in terms of answering and at the same time we had fun. That was a good mix.
  • I liked how not just examples were given but methods on how to approach the question. The UMAT course was really interesting & engaging for such a long course.
  • The holistic and “big picture” focus of the 2 day UMAT course was great. Not only are UMAT skills analysed but life skills  and approaches I will undoubtedly carry through life make the MedEntry UMAT prep course worth more than was paid for.
  • Learning how to answer the UMAT sample questions in more detail was very helpful. Listening to other people’s opinions helped me gain a new perspective.
  • I feel UMAT smarter!
  • The MedEntry UMAT course heavily involved the students. Pushing them to interact and articulate their thoughts, allowing them to gain confidence with their answer choices, and be fully conscious of the reasoning behind each answer.
  • A fantastic and very worthwhile UMAT prep course. Glad I cut my holidays short for MedEntry.
  • Ed was really interesting and FUNNY! I got soooo much out of the MedEntry UMAT course. Like UMAT tips I would’ve never thought of or heard from other people, especially for the Interviews & section 3 UMAT.
  • The two day MedEntry UMAT course were very worthwhile and although I realised just how hard the UMAT test is going to be, it has made me more determined to do well
  • I really liked the broader context brought into view about the UMAT/interviews and how to address them and not just grinding out long and dry techniques to learn.
  • I liked how the MedEntry course simplified the UMAT and seeing the questions, material etc. reduces my apprehension about the actual UMAT test and gives me a feeling of confidence.
  • Not only does it help on UMAT it allows us to question how well we know ourselves and others. This MedEntry course brings out major questions in life. What we want and how to achieve it.
  • Overall, I thought it was an enjoyable two day course. Not only did I learn better ways to approach UMAT questions, I learnt a lot about the key qualities for success in life. Ed was a great life coach!
  • The humour of the lecturer, the more inside knowledge of what ACER does.
  • This course taught me how to think from a different perspective, which I now see will be vital to success in UMAT and elsewhere.
  • Learnt how to think in new ways and view things from others perspective.
  • Loved it. Lost a weekend but gained a lot of insight.
  • It is an opportunity to meet new people who have similar aspirations as yourself and it teaches you new ways to approach life.
  • It is a very helpful course, not just for those wanting to do medicine. It helps you become a better learner.
  • I found the session fantastic, both academically and from a life-coach perspective. It has motivated me for preparing for medicine and has helped me to discover strategies that will help me achieve success in the future. Thank you very much!
  • It was a wonderful course! I learnt a lot about myself. Thank you.
  • It is a great course, worthwhile and you meet great people, who all feel the same about studying
  • I enjoyed the general UMAT tips rather than specific data provided on the individual sections. In addition I enjoyed tips on how to improve and make myself a better person.
  • MedEntry UMAT training has been of great assistance and I’m sure it will be a tool that I can use to reach my goals.
  • I feel more prepared and motivated to study. I have learnt many techniques that I feel will give me an advantage over students who have not attended the course.
  • I enjoyed the course and learnt many new things. It has really opened my mind up and changed the way I view people and things.
  • I liked that it was not only about the UMAT. It made me think about the way I deal with life. The MedEntry UMAT advice helped me understand an issue that has been bothering me for a while. Also, it was motivational. Even if I don’t get the course I want, I’ve actually gained something from it.
  • The information provided was very useful. Not only those specifically for UMAT preparation but hose life skills as well. The MedEntry UMAT help gave me a sense of direction in life and how I should pursue my goals. And of course Dr Ed was awesome.
  • Good course, well organised, good ‘inside’ knowledge.
  • It is a great, very focused and effective approach to UMAT prep. Well worth every cent to those who take UMAT and medicine seriously.
  • Personally I found the UMAT course very useful. The practice helped me a lot and I learnt a lot of new useful strategies. It also pushed me to work harder and think both inside and outside the square.
  • The thorough details about how to attack the UMAT and the interview gives a greater insight and also the skills taught come in handy in the future. I won’t tell people in my year level as there is too much competition, maybe year 11’s.
  • I most enjoyed the removal of most of the deception surrounding the UMAT and Medical School entry and hearing from previous MedEntry participants who are now studying Medicine.
  • I really liked 1) how the course offered techniques and methods to approach questions from each section.  2) Going through the process of answering a range of questions from each section.  3) Practice exam was hard, but very beneficial to identify weaknesses. 4) Past MedEntry student advice.
  • I found the course extremely useful as an insight into the exam, but I also loved how much else I learnt about life, how to approach situations in my future and interviews. It was really helpful because it told me not only what people would be look for in me (qualities) but also how to get those qualities. I also liked how there were extremely useful study tips.
  • I believe MedEntry was the right choice for me as it was very informative, humorous and it did not get dull on any points. It did not feel like school but more of an interactive activity and a very well organised workshop.
  • Albeit feeling completely drained at the end of each gruelling session, I found it to be an enlightening experience and I learnt a lot. Surprisingly the course was rather interesting and I appreciated our lecturer’s sense of humour which was a necessary contrast to the rather dry material.
  • Valuable life lessons such as learning how to think, interact with people and being more perceptive.
  • The techniques and tips that are given in the workshop, especially the advice to train the brain.
  • It was really helpful and informative. I feel like the techniques we learnt will greatly benefit out UMAT scores as well as our entire lives. I personally think I learnt a lot about skills, techniques and personality traits that will help me in life. And I think it has helped me understand myself as a person and assist me in choosing my desired Medicine course and specialty. We got a lot of good, valuable advice.
  • The analysis of each section because it helped me to better understand each section well, the UMAT trail test was also very helpful because it was a good indicator of the real exams as well as distractions and atmosphere one may encounter when sitting the actual exam. The interview tips were also very helpful.
  • The skills we learned are universally applicable and relevant to many pursuits.
  • Before coming I was extremely nervous about the UMAT but now I am feeling more confident in myself and my ability to do this test. I am also more aware of the techniques that can be used to prepare, but more importantly, I AM MOTIVATED!
  • The seminar has really given me confidence, projection and trajectory towards success on UMAT day. Dr Edward covered so much more than the mechanics of the test, I enjoyed this approach. I believe that this is the hardest test I’ve ever had to take, but I know with applying the knowledge from the MedEntry seminar I will be ready.
  • I learnt many methods in which to apply to UMAT questions and these really helped me as they are very useful. Also, the skills I have learnt through MedEntry will also help me in future life experiences. Most importantly MedEntry has provided inspiration, hope and determination for me in pursuing my dream of studying Medicine.
  • It was informative and a lot of fun. I was able to learn a lot of ideas and advice from not only the lecturer, but also the other students attending the workshop. It allowed me to find out my weaknesses and my strengths, and gave me confidence to continue. I also though the lecturer was probably one of the best lecturers I’ve ever heard speak. He was engaging and made everything interesting.
  • It was very informative and in an easy to understand format. The lecturer was very humorous so he made the whole course seem more fun. It gave me new methods on how to tackle section 3 questions which was incredibly helpful.
  • It was very interesting and engaging for all the students and I was given amazing advice/information from the lecturer and other students about UMAT and my future career pathways. It also made me feel certain that Medicine was the career I really wanted to pursue.
  • I felt that even if I don’t get into Medicine, that it taught me useful skills in learning how to learn and understanding questions. Learning pattern recognition was also very helpful.
  • It was interesting and engaged each and every student. In addition to this, a lot of UMAT theory was also conveyed throughout the presentation. This fact makes it a very educational course which also serves as a helpful guide though everyday life.
  • The specific strategy we were given to work out different sections. They were super helpful! The interview tips / dos and don’ts were also very valuable and I0 have also been inspired to do a lot better in studies which was unexpected. Motivation!
  • The down-to-earth nature of the course, speaker and activities. It was easy to understand and follow, and the atmosphere was quite enjoyable. The extra steps Dr Edward took, providing anecdotes about previous students and good books to read made me trust his judgment and want to achieve my goal.
  • I really enjoyed the entire learning process.  Dr Edward was a really helpful mentor and it was a privilege to have been guided and taught by him. He really helped in advising us about the importance of UMAT as well as provided us with useful techniques on how to approach questions. His advice on life-learning and interview techniques was really interesting and I believe this course has been very beneficial.
  • The insight into the UMAT and the process of getting into Medicine, the practice, the clear demonstration of techniques for solving questions (guides and solutions working together). Increased confidence heading into UMAT, and showing how to re-train your brain.
  • It was relaxed, unpretentious, not preachy and cut straight to the heart of what you should do and how to tackle not only UMAT questions, but how to sit the exam and do well in the interview. It also provided strategies to study UMAT by yourself beyond the 2 day lecture, and has online resources so you can study at home at your own pace.
  • The lecturer was great, very approachable and engaging. I liked the format of the program. I’m so happy I came; the strategies will significantly improve my process of thinking and performance in such aptitude tests.
  • I thoroughly enjoyed the entire session, though especially the emphasis on how the skills we need and are learning for UMAT will be crucial for future successes. I feel more confident now in sitting the UMAT exam as well as being a more intellectual and successful person. Thank you.
  • This course has not only taught me vital skills and information regarding how to tackle UMAT questions, it has also taught me many skills which I believe (which through development) that will allow me to mature into a well-rounded human being. It has also reduced my anxiety about sitting the exam and had motivated me to work efficiently.
  • It made me feel more focused on the UMAT and gave me a greater degree of understanding of what the UMAT is for and how practicing for it will not only help with the UMAT but also in life. I found Dr Ed to be very interesting and easy to listen to and I have gained a lot of knowledge about myself and how I can better my relationships with others and also improve my learning skills.
  • I found it very helpful! Introduction to the types of questions and how to approach them had undoubtedly strengthened my confidence and ability. I find that I have many methods to try and approach a questing ensuring that I do not get caught up or guess so frequently. Also a special thanks to our presenter who was very entertaining, engaging and insightful.
  • The atmosphere of the teacher and environment, medium sized lectures, personality of Dr. And of course the great information.
  • It emphasised the importance of the skills tested in the UMAT, to which I strongly agree. It is undoubtedly a good motivator for me, not only to improve in the UMAT, but to improve myself as a person. I am an avid learner and reader about health, psychology, success and found these workshops to cover, if not clearly show, these things.
  • The open and friendly environment of the workshop. The lecturer was very knowledgeable and interesting, showed great character and a genuine interest in helping us to achieve our best in UMAT and life. The activities were interesting and allowed us to meet new people too which is great.
  • I liked learning about the UMAT test information that I previously did not know and having the chance to actually sit a trial exam to get a feel for what the UMAT test will actually be like. I also enjoyed meeting other students who have the same interests in Medicine, as myself, and being able to ask advice and discuss issues with the grade 12 students.
  • The UMAT course was very helpful in every aspect; not only for the UMAT test but also for other aspects in life. It helped me to understand how to interpret and answer questions from all the sections. I feel that I have also learnt some life lessons like interview skills or how to react quicker to issues and questions. I also met new people who were helpful and nice so you felt more comfortable.
  • What I most enjoyed about the course was that it was interesting and held no dull moments. I loved hearing the anecdotes of Ed to give a more personal experience and having bursts of laughter. The strategies of different questions are indispensable and have really helped me improve in all sections. Not only is the course great to get a head start on the UMAT for entrance into Medicine, but also a course on ‘How to Succeed in Life!’ I had a great time. (Also meeting new and different people)
  • I found that the course was engaging as well as informative. It made me feel as though you had complete control over your result and that if you can train your mind to think the way that is necessary you are likely to do well.
  • The huge amount of support available. Such as the LMS program, private tutoring and the workshop. There was also an element of life coaching to the course which I found to be good.
  • It gave comprehensive details on all areas regarding both UMAT & interviews. It was also greatly beneficial in learning some of the skills which will clearly apply in many more aspects of life. The info given about graduating was interesting as there are no doctors in the family & I have never ben sat down and explained to it by anyone.
  • The fact that many of the strategies and activities do not only apply to passing the UMAT, but is a holistic course concerning many aspects of simply how to live a mentally and physically, healthy and active life. The skills taught in this course are pretty much applicable in any subject and any practice we choose in life.
  • The MedEntry UMAT course provided very valuable insights into the psychology, strategies and hints for a wide variety of questions from all three sections. I addition, the tips regarding interview strategies were brilliant, as was the general knowledge provided. It was lively, funny, relaxed and worth the money and time.
  • I enjoyed the second day of the MedEntry course the most. The information given on universities and different entry pathways was interesting and useful in guiding me. The interview section was also enjoyable as it not only provided me with tips for university interviews but also gave me information that I can use for any other interviews or encounters I may experience with influential people in the future.
  • Mostly enjoyed meeting new people with similar interests. I enjoyed the insights into how to develop the fundamentals of a successful life. I enjoyed the ‘brain Olympics’ we were subject to in the first day there. There is a lot of content to think about, share with others and gain further opinions from others.
  • I liked how students from different schools were brought together to discuss questions, how sample questions from each section were explained in a detailed manner during the course as well as having an experienced student answering our questions.
  • It was engaging, informative and encouraging. I expected to become bored after 16 hours but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Time flew
  • It didn’t just focus on answering questions correctly; it showed you how to do it and how you should approach different situations. It made me less stressed and more excited (which I didn’t think was possible) for UMAT.
  • I learnt a lot of techniques; made friends; changed my life forever, in terms of how I view the world
  • I liked the large number of people attending which meant that many questions I did not ask would have been asked by someone else which would have satisfied my question. Also the UMAT practice exam was very appropriate as it allowed me to sit in a simulated exam environment and to be able to trace out my weaknesses and my strengths during the course.
  • The lecturer was very eloquent and well prepared. Lecture material was very good.
  • The tips were extremely beneficial and make the UMAT incredibly less daunting. The lecturer was friendly and helpful. It gives you a good idea of where to start when tackling medicine. The MedEntry course ‘concreted’ my desire to be a doctor, and made me excited.
  • It didn’t just focus on answering question correctly; it showed you how to do it and how you should approach different situation. It m
  • Made me less stressed and more excited which I didn’t think was possible for UMAT.
  • I got a lot more out of it than I expected, not only am I educated on the UMAT/medicine I’m more motivated/certain.
  • I had only heard about the UMAT and how incredibly difficult it is before I signed up for MedEntry. Dr Ed puts things into perspective. At this course I have learnt that the UMAT is a doable test with the right knowledge and preparation. Without MedEntry, I would walk into the test room completely oblivious and suffer from shock as a result! All in all, Dr Ed is an engaging and humorous presenter.
  • Information of UMAT course, health industry and life challenges. Good to know even if I don’t get into ‘medicine’ I can use the skills I learnt in other aspects of life so money spent is worth it. Also the ‘lecturer?’ was very passionate about this and his enthusiasm spread to further engagement through the crowd.
  • I found it so much more interesting than school. I liked engaging with different parts of my brain and talking to new kids. I felt more confident in my ability to do patterns which I really thought I would be bad at. Lecturer Ed was the best. I never met a funnier and more engaging person in my life. I never knew my attention span could last more than 20 minutes
  • Lots of valuable life information and skills. Taking a lot away from the program.
  • The way the questions are explained in person, it makes the answers easier to understand. Along with the atmosphere of the room which makes it easier to relate with people.
  • The skills and techniques will give me a significant advantage as to getting into medicine, but is just as significant in improving my own strategies for approaching any challenges in the future - the course was just as effective as a life-coaching seminar.
  • Very helpful, I can walk out knowing I have learnt a lot, not only on UMAT but on universities, medicine and selection process
  • Going step by step through the patterns was very beneficial for me. I really enjoyed how there was an emphasis on how we can better ourselves as people rather than purely how to improve our test scores.
  • I like the fact that it is very closely related to the actual UMAT and very reliable
  • Networking with other students and realising that other candidates are just as nervous about UMAT as you are
  • I thought I knew all about the pathways into medicine but it turns out that there is a lot that I didn’t know so it was very helpful and answered many of the questions I had
  • Dr Edward acted not just like a UMAT lecturer, but also like a life coach. Was inspiring to have somebody of such calibre as a teacher. The two day course also clarified much that was on the LMS site. Overall the access to resources is what has benefitted me most.
  • I think it will dramatically improve my UMAT score, which is very important to me but there are also other beneficial effects of the course. For example, my QCS score from practice exams at school have greatly increased. The course has also made me smarter overall and made me better at exams.
  • Overall it showed me a clear indication to what level I am sitting on my personal reflection. It clearly showed by way how to approach “hard” questions in a different pathway, essentially building my critical thinking. Not only did it show me how to approach questions it also addressed the importance of other people's values, attitudes and beliefs.
  • How they explained what to look for in question options and how to eliminate options easily based on wording or details. I also enjoyed the way they showed short cuts in answering questions and approaches.
  • It was very informative, and run/organised very efficiently. Rather than doing loads of examples, we learnt about the mind set of UMAT. It was easy to listen to and I feel that it was very valuable and helped me enjoy the UMAT. The presenters were knowledgeable and engaging and shared lots of valuable information.
  • LMS practice exams, course materials - section explanations, the face to face course days. Ed was an exceptional teacher and guide. I learned more in his course than in many of my university studies.
  • Very helpful. I thought it would be a very boring 8 hour day but was surprised at how much I enjoyed it.
  • I really enjoyed the 2 day MedEntry UMAT course.  As well as obtaining all of the tools I need to succeed in the 2012 UMAT exam I’ve found that I now have information to excel in other subjects, which I didn’t think I would receive.
  • To tell the truth, I thought it was going to be boring listening to a too-formal lecturer for eight hours and doing a trial exam, which was scary.  Instead, the lecturer was funny and awesome, met a few new friends and it didn’t feel like eight hours.
  • I didn’t expect it to be as easy-going and enjoyable. We did difficult questions, but there was never any pressure to know everything, and I thought the lecturer was fantastic.
  • The teacher is not a ‘student’ as in some courses - taught by an actual Lecturer.
  • I thought it would extremely hard work and no fun, but I found that I really enjoyed the 2 days. It was intense but manageable and it really helped me to clue in to what UMAT is all about.
  • Was very difficult – it really made me appreciate that I can do better!!! (With practice). Funny, interactive and entertaining speaker – loved the stories of past students etc...
  • The attention to detail of the methods that can best be used to answer questions that look impossible. No matter what weird stuff is happening in a question, there are essential steps you can take to lead you to the answer.
  • It was really enjoyable. I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did.
  • The amount of practice material is unparalleled. Because MedEntry has been doing this for a very long time they’re more reliable that the Irish-run courses which have only been around for a few years.
  • The lecturer, Dr. Ed, was very easy-going and likeable, whilst at the same time being extremely passionate about helping us succeed. I found his passion infectious, and the information he provided was of impeccable quality. Doing this course made me see UMAT preparation as a means of self-improvement as opposed to an obligatory exam standing between me and gaining a place in medical school.
  • The fact that we were taught basic principles and methods which can be applied to almost any question, rather than just going through specific questions.
  • It was funny and enjoyable. It explained how to improve on your UMAT score and how the UMAT helps you in life. Also, I think it made me more confident about the UMAT and about my studies in general. It provided me with motivation I didn’t get at school or at home.
  • Very informative. Gave me a good idea of what to expect and put me at ease. Helped me feel interested and to continue improving my intelligence beyond the UMAT.
  • I liked that this course not only prepared you for UMAT, but for life. Also there was a great atmosphere which encouraged learning.
  • The presenter, Dr. Edward B, was extraordinary in terms of amicability, enthusiasm, and clarity.
  • The interactive nature of the course.
  • The mock UMAT exam.
  • Speaker – he was very knowledgeable and I learnt more than I expected; humour kept me awake and his patience in dealing with questions is admirable.
  • The Lecturer was incredibly informative and managed to turn a boring topic into one that was engaging and fun.
  • Firstly I thought of UMAT as an inconvenience and a hindrance in order to gain entry into medical course. MedEntry UMAT course was really enjoyable and intuitive at the same time; we were taught how to develop Life Long achievement both personally and academically.
  • I liked the emphasis on life skills and how the UMAT was portrayed not just as a means of gaining entry into medicine, but an exam that furthers your development as a person in multiple ways. It helped me view the UMAT in a new light.

Comments comparing MedEntry to other courses

  • There are many scam websites such as ................. spruiking UMAT preparation and it is comforting to know that MedEntry is trusted and proven.
  • There are websites such as ................. run by a serial bankrupt, which is worse than useless!
  • I think it’s the best UMAT preparation with people you can trust.
  • When I did the UMAT back in 2003, I was unfortunate enough to do the ................. course. Doing this course I can see the difference. This course far exceeded my expectations. Money well spent.
  • MedEntry is better by far.
  • MedEntry has better section 1 and section 2 coverage.
  • I hear from friends that MedEntry is by far the best course available.
  • Having done three courses, this is by far the best as it is most like the actual UMAT.
  • Compared to some other UMAT prep courses I have done before, MedEntry was much better in that I was able to see my percentile for each of the 10 practice exams. I couldn’t determine how I compared to other people when I did the other courses.
  • The solutions to the questions that MedEntry provides are much easier to understand, more detailed, and easier to access.
  • I enrolled in ................. last year and found it too general.
  • MedEntry is much better and more organised.
  • My friend showed me ................. resources, but they were below the level of the real UMAT (too easy).
  • I’ve heard that MedEntry is way better than others.
  • MedEntry is much more difficult, which is much more realistic.
  • I enrolled in ................. last year. MedEntry is much more useful. The MedEntry UMAT Course is longer, there is more detailed advice and tips, there are lots more resources.
  • Last year I enrolled in ................. and found it very bad in comparison to MedEntry. I regret not enrolling in MedEntry last year because then I would not have missed out on an interview by one point!
  • From what I’ve heard, Dr Ed has a much nicer personality than ................. MedEntry is definitely the better option.
  • I enrolled in a course by ................. The course at ................. was far more expensive than MedEntry (two times more), and the quality was very poor. They were unhelpful, unprepared and unstructured. They didn’t address all aspects of the UMAT effectively. MedEntry was superior in all of these.
  • I did MedEntry due to ‘word of mouth’ as a comparative to other courses.
  • MedEntry is much better than other UMAT courses.
  • I did ................. MedEntry is in a totally different class. The ................. course was very uninformed, provided very poor notes (with typos), the questions were not at all like the actual UMAT, and the lecturer was incredibly rude and aggressive.
  • MedEntry is more up-to-date and useful and challenging, so it prepares you much better.
  • MedEntry is leagues ahead in every respect!
  • Other UMAT courses are a waste of time.
  • MedEntry is way better, and has a more relaxed atmosphere.
  • It is the best UMAT course compared to the others.
  • The ................. course could not be compared in any way with MedEntry.
  • ................. course is a scam. The advertised courses were not run and we got no refunds. MedEntry reputation is based on the fact that it is trusted.
  • Don't trust the forums is my advice. Students don't want competition, so they deliberately mislead: unfortunate but true!
  • Last year I enrolled in ................. That was by far the worst experience ever. The teacher was horrible. MedEntry is awesome!
  • One of my friends is a forum moderator. He says owners of scam websites infiltrate forums and promote themselves and bag trusted ones like MedEntry. Think critically!
  • Last year I made the mistake of trusting what is said on the forums. They are anonymous and run by vested interests. Word of mouth is the best and MedEntry is the only one friends recommend.
  • What the Lecturer said at the MedEntry UMAT Course is true {The amount of bull shit on the internet is increasing exponentially}. There are too many dodgy sites. MedEntry is the only trusted UMAT course.
  • I’ve attended ................., it rates poorly compared to MedEntry’s UMAT course and extensive rsources that MedEntry provides.
  • I enrolled with ................. course a few years back. If I had to rank on a scale of 0 – 100, .................(0) and MedEntry(100).
  • I went to ................. Course previously and honestly I came away thinking ................. was full of shit. You did well.
  • Attended ................. last year, MedEntry was much better, more organisation and generally greater quality.
  • MedEntry is better, in my opinion as they have much more UMAT Courses and opportunities for discussions.
  • MedEntry is by far the best UMAT course around.
  • I went to a free seminar at ................. and all other courses miss the fact that you can’t “cram” for the UMAT.
  • The MedEntry’s LMS stands alone.
  • I found the online aspects of MedEntry better than other courses.
  • I did a course in 5th year but this course is better. All the other course did was give us examples which now appear to be copies of those by MedEntry.
  • The research MedEntry has done into the UMAT is unrivalled by any other institution; even though they are leaders in UMAT preparation courses, they stick by MedEntry’s motto of committing to continuous improvement.
  • .................. It sucks compared to MedEntry.
  • ................. course- MedEntry provides more material.
  • Everyone said MedEntry was the best and MedEntry offers amazing teacher scholarships (I wouldn’t be here writing this if not for the scholarship!).
  • I’ve heard of ................. but it’s out dated. MedEntry is very useful as the material gets updated quicker than other courses.
  • MedEntry is the bees knees of UMAT Preparation courses.
  • I did the ................. course last year. Not only I wasted time and money, it was far worse: it was misleading.
  • ................. is far inferior compared to MedEntry. The lecturer and questions they give us are not helpful and do not discuss the questions and solutions in-depth.
  • I attended ................. umat prep course last year (4 day workshop operated by a biomed graduate who got 100 percentile) and it wasn’t helpful or worth the money. MedEntry has been 100 times better in comparison - resource wise and the course had been fun.
  • I went to ................. and it was crap.
  • Other courses just go through examples, but MedEntry goes through strategies which you can practice with numerous questions available online on LMS.
  • Yes, I attended ….............. Doesn’t compare because ….............. just goes through examples.
  • I heard of the course run in ….............. but I was told that MedEntry UMAT course is ten times better and more effective.

  • MedEntry is good, percentiles are given which give some sort of indication of where you are at whereas ….............. doesn’t.
  • MedEntry kicks ….............. materials in the balls.
  • MedEntry in a nutshell rocks! It is clearly the leading UMAT prep course.
  • The MedEntry UMAT course discusses what the UMAT is there for and the components within the UMAT. MedEntry allows you to experience this test which is unlike any other test in high school.
  • Completed course with ….............. MedEntry UMAT prep is a far more detailed and sophisticated style of learning with emphasis on principles, strategies and techniques.
  • MedEntry Rocks!
  • I really enjoyed the 2 day MedEntry UMAT course. As well as obtaining all of the tools I need to succeed in the 2012 UMAT exam I’ve found that I now have information to excel in other subjects, which I didn’t think I would receive.
  • I attended ….............. it was garbage compared to MedEntry.
  • Attended ….............. last year, MedEntry was much better, more organisation and generally greater quality.

  • After attending a UQ open day, a current student doing the medical course said that 98% of students used MedEntry.
  • MedEntry is in a field of its own. The endless questions and expert knowledge of the exam is unrivalled.
  • I did the UMAT last year. While I went to different courses to prepare I thought UMAT was a waste of time. Now on having done this MedEntry course, I realise how valuable UMAT is & how important that everyone should do it.
  • Last year I went to ….............. UMAT course – I found them good only for section 3: the drills. MedEntry was ten times better.
  • I have enrolled in the …..............course which I regret in hindsight. The question quality was not up to par with the UMAT both in style and difficulty. Some questions asked weren’t even on the UMAT and some seemed to be in the wrong sections.
  • Other courses just go through examples, but MedEntry goes through strategies which you can practice with numerous questions available online on LMS

  • One of the best UMAT teaching courses I’ve ever attended. Good teaching environment and very good teacher. Wish there were more days of the MedEntry course.
  • MedEntry is the number one course to get good results for UMAT.
  • MedEntry is in a field of its own. The endless questions and expert knowledge of the exam is unrivalled.
