UCAT Prep Grant for Rural Victorians

According to a report from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, people in remote areas of Australia are less likely to have a GP nearby and even less likely to have a specialist. Studies have also shown that individuals who have experience living in rural and regional locations often return to these areas to pursue their professional careers. Therefore, there is a clear need to encourage students living in rural and regional priority areas and who are interested in studying medicine, to pursue their dream of becoming a doctor.
RWAV MedEntry UCAT Preparation Grant Details
For this reason, MedEntry are proud to partner with the Rural workforce Agency Victoria (RWAV) to help widen access into medicine for rural students. RWAV is a government-funded organisation established to improve healthcare in rural, remote and Indigenous areas.
MedEntry’s partnership with RWAV provides FREE MedEntry UCAT platinum packages for Victorian rural students looking to enter medicine.

Eligibility for RWAV MedEntry UCAT Preparation Grant
Applicants must be high school students currently studying year 11 or 12.
Applicants’ main residence or school must be in a rural Victoria MMM 1 or MMM 3-7 location. To check your MMM location:
- Go to the following page: https://www.health.gov.au/resources/apps-and-tools/health-workforce-locator
- In the Classification Filter, click on the box Modified Monash Model 2019
- Click on Find Address and in the drop-down box, type your address
This will give you the MMM rating for your area.
Applicants must also be:
- able to provide proof of address
- considering applying to study at Monash University in Victoria
- Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents
Applicants must display a strong passion for rural health and rural communities.
Applying for RWAV MedEntry UCAT Preparation Grant
To apply for the RWAV MedEntry UCAT Preparation grant, you will need to register with RWAV, login and then complete the UCAT Exam Preparation Grant application form. To complete the application, you will need some means of identification.
Providing free access to UCAT preparation for rural students is part of MedEntry's commitment to Australian healthcare, and to widening access into medicine.
