Bachelor of Dental Science

CSU's Bachelor of Dental Science is a five-year undergraduate dentistry degree.

After completion this degree, you will be able to register as a dental practitioner in all Australian states and territories.

After registration, you may specialise within a particular area of dentistry of interest to you.

Admission

Students will be invited for an interview at Charles Sturt University for Dental Science based on their UCAT score.

Candidates will be ranked based on their overall UCAT score, and the top-ranked applicants will then be invited for an interview.

Following interview, applicants will be selected for offer based on interview outcome.

Each year at least 50% of places will be set aside for applicants who have a significant rural background or who are Indigenous applicants. Applicants who wish to apply for one of these places will upload an additional form with their UAC application which details their eligibility for this pathway.

Charles Sturt Interview dates, Interview questions and assessment criteria

In the last week of October, applicants are notified if they have been selected for interview.

Interviews will be held across 5 days in late November at the Orange campus of Charles Sturt University. Applicants must attend the interview in person.

The interview will be a panel interview and provides applicants the opportunity to demonstrate their communication skills and to further explore their motivation for undertaking a career in dentistry and their commitment to rural and regional dental practice. Applicant’s problem solving, decision making and spatial awareness skills will also be assessed.

Bachelor of Clinical Science (Medicine) / Doctor of Medicine

Charles Sturt University (CSU) will be delivering a Bachelor of Clinical Science (Medicine) / Doctor of Medicine course. The Program in Medicine is a five-year undergraduate entry degree.

Admission criteria

Local applicants. 

To be eligible for a place applicants must meet three criteria:

  • Academic threshold.
  • UCAT performance.
  • Interview performance, MMI
Academic Merit Requirements

Selection is on the basis of: academic merit, results of the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT); and performance at an interview. For entry into the course, an ATAR or equivalent of at least 95.5 (91.5 rural) is required.

80% of interview places will be allocated to NSW applicants, 20% will be allocated to applicants from Interstate.

If you are successful in meeting the UCAT ANZ rank you will be invited to attend an interview.

Interviews will be held virtually, via Zoom, in November.
