Selection criteria:

ATAR:
2023: 99.75 lowest selection rank (including adjustment factors) after all rounds

There is no UCAT requirement for Year 12 applicants.

This five-year, full-time dentistry course covers the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions of the mouth including teeth and supporting structures. The course introduces clinical experience from the start, and offers a focus on rural health needs.

VCE Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL;  and a study score of at least 25 in Biology; and a study score of at least 25 in Chemistry.

NB: Meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee an offer of a place. Entry into all La Trobe courses is based on competitive selection and there may be limited places available.

Applicants may wish to provide other documentation in support of their application. Non-Year 12 applicants must complete and submit a VTAC Personal Statement online for other information to be considered during the selection process e.g. details on work experience or reasons for applying.

Selection may also be based on GPA.

Applicants with Higher education study must complete the UCAT.

Oral Health Science (Bendigo)

This two-and-a-half-year degree gives you an overview of rural health sciences before focusing on oral health and promotion. You'll learn how to assist in the prevention and treatment of tooth decay and gum disease and promote oral health to rural Victorians.

Prerequisites: 

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; and a study score of at least 25 in one of Biology or Chemistry.

Non-Year 12: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Subject bonus: A study score of 30 in Physical Education or any Science equals 4 aggregate points per study. A study score of 25 in Health And Human Development or any Mathematics equals 4 aggregate points per study. A study score of 20 in any LOTE equals 4 aggregate points per study. Overall maximum of 12 points.
